Stratasys is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor for our Eden Prairie (SMACS) location.

In this role you will have the responsibility of managing the purchasing of commodities used in the manufacturing of goods. This role will oversee the coordination of manufacturing, planning and engineering areas to buy inventory in a cost effective and timely manner and ensures proper inventory is available in the supply chain.

What you will be doing:

Purchasing

• Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage working capital and reduce production related shortages

• Be a champion for Plan for Every Part (PFEP) data to drive improvements in working capital, logistics costs, supermarket setup and part presentation

• Work with buyers to develop and implement policies, procedures and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions

Supplier Relations

• Identify and lead procurement process improvement projects/strategies and cost reduction projects across various functions

• Maintain strong working relationships and communication directly with the sourcing, supply chain and production lines, contract manufacturers and suppliers; serve as the escalation point for the purchasing team

• Collaborate with Sourcing to develop key category strategies using analytics to support direction and the successful implementation of those strategies

Supervision

• Completes the annual performance process- writes, conduct reviews, for assigned employees. To include development feedback for improvement on performance and behaviors

• Lead the assigned area to ensure good employee working environment and resolve employee personal conflicts

• Support and maintain a training system to ensure personnel are properly performing the tasks they are assigned per quality standards

As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Must have for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or other related field; or years of experience in lieu of education

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing or planning (preferably) within a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years experience leading a team

  • Advance knowledge of ERP with working knowledge of Oracle

  • Advanced experience with demonstrated understanding and application of material flow concepts

Nice to have:

  • Certification in CPIM (certified in Production and Inventory Management)

  • APICS certification

  • Certification in Project Manager (PMP)

  • 3+ years’ experience in inventory management

Travel required: 10%
