Are you a highly experienced software test technician ready to make an impact on the next generation of 3D printers? With minimal direction, the Software Test Engineering Specialist conducts non-routine or complex software tests, writes new software test cases, creates complex automation scripts, and drives improvements in software testing processes. The Software Test Engineering Specialist plans and leads small test projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a wide variety of non-routine and complex tests with minimal direction or supervision.

  • Analyzes and summarizes test data. Clearly and concisely documents test results in test reports with conclusions. Files reports to assure that they are easily retrievable in the future. Presents test results outside of Test Engineering when needed.

  • Proactively communicates with team members and manager to alert them to potential problems and/or get additional information and direction.

  • Proactively drives improvements to software testing. Creates and maintains automation scripts and drives other improvements to software testing. Researches, selects, purchases, and implements new software testing tools. Stays up to date on changes in software testing.

  • Leads small test projects, assuring they are completed efficiently and on time.

  • Creates and documents test plans for small projects. Works with requestors to determine the types of tests that will be required. Accurately predicts resource needs and completion dates.

  • Independently plans and prioritizes work assignments to make the best use of available resources (time, personnel and materials).

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in software testing, automation, and other testing tools.

  • Serves as an internal technical resource to less experienced personnel and works closely with newer personnel to help them become confident and contributing as quickly as possible. Proactively shares knowledge with others on the team to improve the skill level of the team.

  • Directs the work of less experienced technicians and assures that testing is completed efficiently.

  • Troubleshoots machine and part printing issues. Maintain a clean lab environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year degree or higher in software development / programming or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of software testing and/or software development experience.

  • 5+ years of experience writing automation programs or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience in software development for automation with a deep level of scripting knowledge. JavaScript or Python preferred.

  • Experience with automated and manual software testing.

  • TestRail and Jira experience.

  • Experience improving processes for software testing.

  • Hands on knowledge of computers. Windows and Linux operating system. Experience with Excel and Word.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

  • Ability to multitask and keep multiple tests going at the same time.

  • Experience leading projects with 2-3 technicians.
