Stratasys Direct Manufacturing (SDM) is hiring a focused, highly motivated, and talented Program Engineer with project management and customer experience. You will play an integral role on a customer facing team that quotes and manages all prototype and production work for Stratasys Direct Manufacturing. The SDM project engineering team develops and educates customers on the wide range of technologies we offer, and provide a premier customer experience for the success of each project. You will have opportunities to contribute to our overall revenue, and will have exposure to a wide array of technologies including 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and traditional manufacturing technologies.
This “motivated” Program Engineer to oversee customized job portfolios for customers in fascinating industries including consumer, medical, aerospace, energy, transportation and defense.
Will receive request for quotes (RFQ’s) from customers and prospects, generate quotations based on identifying and addressing all risks associated with the customers’ requirements, and flow information to Production for fulfillment of the orders.
Thoroughly review geometry and requirements to identify risks or challenges prior to acceptance of order. Will establish fit between customer requirements/expectations and SDM production capabilities and make recommendations for the customer product development and manufacturing methods
Determine the customers’ wants and needs for quality, functionality, aesthetics, price and delivery. Participates in conference calls/meetings with customers to convey or discover technical requirements.
Provides technical requirements and definition for all projects; communicate with Operations to ensure successful execution; conduct Risk Management meetings.
Participate in internal conference calls to strategize large opportunities with operations, sales and management.
Provide oversight to job portfolios from initial inquiry, create recovery plans as needed until the customer receives the product.
As a part of Stratasys Direct Manufacturing, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
HS or Associate’s degree with related industry experience.
1+ year of customer facing experience
3+ years’ experience in engineering or manufacturing environment for aerospace, medical or oil & gas industries. Prior experience with various manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, vacuum forming, etc.
Experience with various manufacturing process specs, standards and other technical documents
Experience with manufacturing processes, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Software.
Ability to read 2D Drawings, understand GD&T and design intent
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field desired
Experience with project leadership and project management skills highly desired
Experience of 3D printing technologies, manufacturing methods, quoting practices, and contract/engineering drawing review.
